Across centuries and cultures, people have gathered as a part of sacred traditions to mark signficiant events in life.

Saint Augustine, a 5th century bishop, described many of these moments — what the Church calls “Sacraments" — as outward and visible signs of inward and invisible grace. From baptism to marriage to rituals at the time of death, these moments deepen our life and faith in tangible and transformative ways.

At the Anglican Parish of Woodstock, we welcome you to share some of these milestones with us.

Weddings

One of the most wonderful joys in life is coming together in Holy Matrimony, knowing God has brought you together. Other than the decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ, there is no other decision that is more significant.

We want to do everything that we can to help you prepare for this important celebration.

We look forward to meeting with you to help plan a wedding that will be both beautiful and an act of worship. We also look forward to helping you prepare for life after the wedding, with all of the joys and challenges that it will bring.

At least one member of the couple must be an active member or active participant in the life of the Anglican Parish of Woodstock. Allowance will be made for those who may be active in other congregations but who, for geographical or family reasons, desire to be married here.

Baptisms

In baptism we are a new creation, born into the life of the church, and commissioned to be Christ's Body in the world. The Anglican tradition is to baptize infants and young children.  Baptism is also increasingly common for those who come to, or renew their faith as adults. Adults interested in preparing for baptism or confirming their baptismal vows will receive instruction.

Funerals
Supporting you in a time of sorrow.

We seek to be a source of support when a death unfolds, for the dying as well as family and friends. There are several rites that your priest can provide in the days leading up to and following a death; one of the most significant is the funeral.

We are available to help develop a service—ahead of time or as the need arises—that commemorates and gives thanks for the life of your loved one. To learn more, please call our office 506-328-4304 or email stlukes@nb.aibn.com.  We are here to help.
