"Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God." Isaiah 40:1
A Christian Funeral is a time when we pause before the mystery of death and life. Funerals are an expression of faith in our salvation, resurrection, and eternal life. As such, we come to worship God and rejoice in the new life He has given us beyond death. We also gather to thank God for the gift given to us in the person of the deceased. Funerals also express the community support that is shown at a time of death as we pray, sing, laugh, and cry together.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." Romans 12:15
There is no charge for funerals. However a donation would be appropriate, first and foremost, as an offering of gratitude and praise to Almighty God, as well as a symbol of appreciation for the ministry provided, as an act of thanksgiving for the life of your loved one, and to help offset the costs of heating, lighting, and cleaning the facility.

There are three funeral homes in the Woodstock area:
Culberson Funeral Home at 506-325-1130,
Scott Funeral Home at 506-328-3179,
Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville at 506-328-8430.
During the winter months, January, February, March, we may move our worship to the hall to save on heating costs. While three options are available, Option 1 is preferred to reduce expenses for the Parish.
Option 1: Priority is given to holding a funeral at Christ Church, since it is less costly to heat.
Option 2: A funeral may be held at St. Luke`s Church.
Option 3: A funeral may be held at St. Luke’s Hall.
