Annual Report 2019
Mary-Beth Rideout, Altar Guild Secretary

The Altar Guild at St. Luke’s prepares all things necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist, including funerals and special occasions throughout the year.  Their work includes setting the altar before and after each service, the changing and cleaning of linens, as needed; making sure the sacristy is stocked with wafers, wine and other necessities; and the butane candles are full for each service.

Practicing Faithful Stewardship

All Altar Guild donations/revenue are deposited in the church's general bank account for purchase of artificial flowers or other Guild expenditures such as wafers, general cleaning supplies, linens, wine, oil for candles and many other necessities. This is all done under the direction of the Rector.

Scheduling
Working in pairs.

Two members of the committee are assigned one month of duty at a time.  In addition to regular duties, we try to meet as a group two times a year, before Thanksgiving and Christmas to decorate, clean and polish everything in the chancel, including all the vessels used for services.

Faithful Members
A year-round commitment.

There are fifty-two Sundays in a year, for which altar guild members are required to set up for Eucharist, not to mention the numerous other services, weddings, and funerals. So we are very fortunate to have devoted members of our guild. It’s a pleasure working with them: Janis Richard (President), Royce Brown, Ardith MacDonald, Kathy Boone, Jean Collicott, Ellen Kee, Nancy English, Jennifer Taylor,  Elizabeth Gallant, Linda Smith, Linda Porter and Mary Beth Rideout (Secretary).

With Gratitude

Many thanks for your faithful service and for the many hours dedicated in preparing the Lord’s Table for the celebration of Eucharist.

Anyone interested in joining the Altar Guild please speak to me or any of the members or call the church office 506-328-4304.
