A letter from Archbishop David Edwards was read on April 24, 2022, at St. Luke's Church announcing the resignation of Rev. Shirley Noseworthy as rector of the Anglican Parish of Woodstock in order to retire effective October 1, 2022.
Retirements are filled with mixed emotions, sadness in letting going and saying goodbye, and joy and hope for what the future will bring. Thank you to all of you, faithful church family members. I have enjoyed and have been blessed by my ten years as the rector of the Anglican Parish of Woodstock, having begun in the parish on April 1, 2012.
This launches a new chapter for me and for this parish. My last day in active ministry in the parish will be Sept. 2. After that I will be on vacation and my retirement officially begins on Oct. 1, 2022.
Archbishop David will be in touch with the wardens and the Parish Advisory committee regarding the process in seeking the 18th rector and looking after the interim period. All that will unfold in due course. We ask God to raise up a new rector who will bring new life and stir up fresh energy among the people.
