Greetings, church family:
I regret to inform you that there has been a public exposure to Covid-19 on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at the 10:30 am Service of Confirmation at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Woodstock, NB.
Rest assured that we, at St. Luke's, have been following the provincial Public Health Guidelines, asking for proof of full vaccination or medical exemption from all attendees age 12 years and older, and masks are mandatory. The individual who attended and since tested positive for Covid, is a child under age 12. This child has already received the first dose and is waiting for the second.
I have been in touch with 811 and the Covid Resource line and was advised the following.
1. We may notify our congregation.
2. Outside of immediate family, those who attended the service are not considered 'close contacts' of this individual and therefore there is no need to self-isolate.
3. Continue with normal activities.
4. Practice safe public health measures, including wearing a mask, washing and sanitizing hands, etc.
5. Symptoms will begin to appear 5 days after contracting the virus. The Government website recommends monitoring for systems up to 14 days after exposure.
For further details, please go to the Government of New Brunswick website at
Public Exposure, where you may scroll down to "what to do if not fully vaccinated", and "what to do if fully vaccinated".
Those of us who attended the service are advised to self monitor and go about our normal daily activities, following safe health practices, including wearing a mask in public indoor spaces.
If you develop systems, please phone 811 for advice on what to do.
May God keep you safe and well, and may the peace of Christ dwell in you richly!
Blessings,
Rev. Shirley Noseworthy
