A layreader is a layperson authorized by the Bishop in the Diocese of Fredericton to officiate at services of worship or take a leadership role in certain parts of a service.

A Eucharistic Assistant helps with the administration of bread and wine in Holy Eucharist.

While these roles are separate, our Lay Readers are also Eucharistic Assistants.

For more info, please contact the parish office 506-328-4304.  We would be happy to help!

Layreaders/Eucharistic Assistants

A vital ministry

The Lay Readers/Eucharistic assistants are a vital part of our weekly worship and take an active role in the liturgy!

We have four active Lay Readers/ Eucharist Assistants who are on a rotating schedule each month and participate in worship by reading scripture, leading the prayers and assisting with the adminsitration of Holy Communion.  They also lead worship when the rector is on vacation or in the absence of a rector when there is no incumbent.
